Job summary

Menlo School is seeking a Human Resources Associate to support a broad range of HR functions on campus, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, leave administration, and training records management. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources and emphasizes collaboration with managers and employees to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

The role is full-time, on-site, with extensive in-person collaboration on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field required.
• 3+ years HR experience, ideally in education or school setting.
• Familiarity with HR systems and tools; experience with ATS and HRIS recommended.

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle recruitment, coach hiring managers, post roles, manage pipelines, and communicate with candidates.
• Conduct resume reviews, phone screens, reference checks, and process referrals.
• Prepare offer letters, set up new hires in HRIS, guide pre-boarding, I-9s and first-day questions.
• Coordinate onboarding with managers, Payroll, and HR colleagues for a smooth process.
• Administer leaves (FMLA, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability, Baby Bonding, medical leaves) and coordinate with Payroll.
• Lead annual staff performance evaluation process and support managers.
• Maintain Training Management System including rosters, updates, access issues, completion rates.
• Assist with compensation planning materials and surveys; support compliance documentation.
• Serve as first HR contact, clarify policies, and assist with audits and data clean-up.
