Job summary

Stanford University’s Residential & Dining Enterprises seeks an Assistant Director HVAC to lead facilities operations and maintenance across assigned buildings. You will oversee building automation, staff, budgets, and strategic planning to ensure safe, reliable services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of managerial experience; PE registration preferred. This on-site position emphasizes safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Technical knowledge of best practices in facilities management.
• Experience developing and managing budgets and service contracts.
• Experience planning, developing, and implementing programs.
• Experience understanding and applying codes, regulations, and processes.
• Preferred: PE registration, Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage facilities operations and maintenance staff across assigned facilities.
• Oversee building automation systems standards, selection criteria, and performance.
• Develop system standards, training, and cost estimates for installations and modifications.
• Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of building automation systems.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and budgeting.
• Provide strategic planning, prioritization, and long-range program development.
