Job summary

Boswell Engineering in New Jersey seeks experienced inspectors for Municipal Highway Construction Inspection duties across NJ, including NYSDOT/NJDOT/NJTA projects. Responsibilities include on-site inspections of highway, bridge, culvert, and safety projects, with documentation and field changes as needed.

Qualified applicants will interpret plans, prepare inspection reports, and coordinate with Resident Engineer. Flexibility for nights/weekends is expected; NJ residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Interpret plans/specifications and document data.
• Prior Boswell inspection experience in NJ preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; US work eligibility preferred.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspection of heavy highway/bridge projects for municipal clients.
• Daily inspection efforts to ensure contractor compliance with plans and contract documents.
• Complete daily inspection reports.
• Prepare sketches and data for field changes to the project.
• Provide on-site inspection to ensure safety and conformance with contract plans and specs.
• Assist Resident Engineer, Office Engineer and Chief Inspection in tracking pay items and safety compliance.
• Ensure general compliance with the client’s standards and specifications.
• Perform both office and field Construction Inspection duties.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
