Job summary

Sterling Computers Corporation is seeking an On-Site Help Desk Technician to provide Level I/II support at the Des Moines school district. This role serves as the first point of contact for teachers, administrators, staff, and occasionally students/parents, with on-site troubleshooting and limited repairs as needed.

The position requires strong customer service, patience, and the ability to document tickets accurately while maintaining FERPA and IT best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; IT-related degree preferred.
• 1–2 years in a help desk or technical support role, education experience a plus.
• Experience with Windows/macOS, Google Workspace and basic networking; strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level I/II technical support to teachers, admins, staff, and students/parents.
• Log and track tickets accurately in the district's system; note priorities and resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues to Level III or vendors as needed.
• Dispatch field technicians for on-site issues when remote resolution is not possible.
• Assist with user training and contribute to knowledge base updates.
