Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Service Technician in Shafter, CA to support fuel cell systems in customer sites. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and install/upgrade systems with attention to safety and quality.

Strong communication and the ability to work independently are essential. The role involves on-site service, occasional travel, and interaction with lift truck operators and customer personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three (3)+ years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and safely operate a vehicle.
• Proficient computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a location.
• Perform field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call and emergency support to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for service as needed.
• Maintain safety procedures in the field or at customer sites.
• Travel as required for business needs; drive safely and follow traffic laws.
