Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumping and diesel‑driven equipment from the Germantown service location with daily travel to customer sites. You will support critical water systems and have opportunities for growth and hands‑on training.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and customer communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of diesel, mechanical, or related technical experience or equivalent training.
• Strong understanding of mechanical repair practices, tools and troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose basic and complex mechanical/electrical issues.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• CDL‑B preferred (not required).
• Experience with pump station electrical controls, DC circuits, and component testing is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and service on Godwin fleet equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, pumps and electrical systems.
• Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.
• Assist with pump system setup and start‑up at customer sites.
• Conduct equipment damage assessments and report findings.
• Test repaired equipment for proper function and quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop equipment.
• Use computer‑based diagnostic tools.
• Participate in a weekly on‑call rotation to support customers after hours.
• Support Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
