Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Field Service Technician to keep floor and bench scales running safely and accurately at customer sites within your region. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and basic repairs while documenting work and maintaining data records.

You will train end users, coordinate with internal teams, travel up to 25%, and operate with a company car and tools provided. This role demands flexibility, safety compliance, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration.
• 1 to 3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Weights and Measures license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to learn proprietary software and update information using METTLER TOLEDO programs.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 10% on average, potentially up to 25%.
• Must reside within the service territory.
• Ability to work overtime averaging 10-15%, possibly up to 25%.
• Willingness to work in environments with hazards such as chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, dirt, cold, and fumes.
• Willingness to wear protective equipment and clothing when required.
• Position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing.
• Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier loads.
• Frequent physical movements such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on industrial weighing equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs as needed.
• Provide end-user training on proper equipment use and care.
• Use a company laptop and service software to document work performed and maintain service records.
• Communicate with Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and technicians to meet uptime and response-time goals.
• Maintain company vehicle and parts inventory in a clean, organized, compliant manner.
• Support service revenue by identifying service or product needs and submitting sales leads.
• Follow all company, customer, safety, and quality policies.
