Job summary
Edwards Vacuum LLC in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to support customers by de-palletizing and preflighting vacuum pumps, diagnosing faults, and performing preventative maintenance. You will deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt units, and prepare equipment for shipment, working with customer personnel to troubleshoot chamber and pump issues.

Qualifications
- Two or more years experience interacting with customers
- Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps (Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel, Leybold)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- College coursework preferred
- Industry experience preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents
- Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries
- Ability to prepare reports and write business correspondence
- Stand/sit for extended periods; lift up to 35 pounds
- Work environment is an administrative office in a production facility
Responsibilities
- De-palletize and preflight vacuum pumps for customer use
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy field-installed equipment faults
- Perform vacuum pump preventative maintenance
- Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps
- Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment
- Collaborate with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems
