Job summary

Edwards Vacuum LLC in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to support customers by de-palletizing and preflighting vacuum pumps, diagnosing faults, and performing preventative maintenance. You will deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt units, and prepare equipment for shipment, working with customer personnel to troubleshoot chamber and pump issues.

• College coursework preferred
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents
• Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries
• Ability to prepare reports and write business correspondence
• Stand/sit for extended periods; lift up to 35 pounds
• Work environment is an administrative office in a production facility

Your role

As a Field Service Engineer I, you will:

• De-palletize and preflight vacuum pumps for use by the customer.
• To troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy where possible filed installed equipment faults and errors.
• Perform vacuum pump preventative maintenance.
• Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps.
• Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment.
• Work with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues with chambers, forelines and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems

To succeed, you will need

• Two (2) or more years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps such as Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold dry, rotary vane and boosters preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College or specific relevant coursework preferred
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written document
• Ability to respond in a professional manner to common inquiries
• Ability to prepare reports, and write business correspondence
• Regularly required to talk, and hear. Stand or sit for extended periods, walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Routinely required to stoop, kneel or crouch
• Frequently lift and or move up to 35 pounds
