Job summary

AIXTRON Inc. is seeking experienced On-site Field Service Engineers to support MO-CVD systems at customer locations in North America.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upgrades while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and timely escalation according to the company plan. The candidate should have a BS degree in engineering and 3–4 years in semiconductor R&D or production, with travel flexibility for domestic and international assignments.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical/mechanical/computer engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 3–4 years of experience in R&D and/or production environment within the semiconductor industry.
• Direct experience with compound semiconductor & MOCVD operations, maintenance, & hardware engineering is a plus.
• A high level of written and oral communication skills is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, warranty/service repairs, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, system monitoring, upgrades, and installation at customer sites as needed.
• Act as a liaison: provide status reports, respond to requests, address concerns, and update on parts availability and schedule changes.
• Coordinate local tech support and serve as main contact for account manager for status updates.
• Document all system problems and actions taken accurately.
• Meet with customers regularly to address problems and issues.
• Maintain reports on customer issues, tools status and quality; escalate as needed.
• Train less experienced staff and customer representatives on equipment operation and maintenance.
