Job summary

AIXTRON SE, a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer, is seeking an on-site field service engineer in New Jersey to support MO CVD systems in R&D and high-volume manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and coordinate customer activities under the on-site services contract, ensuring rapid issue resolution and high customer satisfaction.

Travel domestically and internationally as needed; work with cross-functional teams, document actions, and train less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical/mechanical/computer engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 3-4 years of experience in R&D and/or production environment within the semiconductor industry, with direct experience in compound semiconductor and MOCVD operations as a plus.
• Strong familiarity with mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hand tools, multimeter, helium leak checker, and high purity gas supply systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, warranty/service repairs, preventive maintenance, system monitoring, upgrades, and installation of AIXTRON reactors at customer sites.
• Act as liaison to provide status reports, respond to requests, and advise on schedule changes and parts availability.
• Coordinate local support from technical teams and be the main contact for account manager with status updates.
• Document all system problems and actions taken; meet with customers regularly to address issues.
• Maintain reports on customer issues, tools status and quality; escalate as needed.
• Train less experienced employees and customer representatives on equipment operations and maintenance.
