Job summary

Iowa Select Farms in Storm Lake, IA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for an on-site role at a farm location. The technician will perform general repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure animal welfare and production continuity.

The role requires adherence to bio-security and safety policies, use of ISF Tools to track repairs, and hands-on work across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding. Weekend on-call is required.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge across trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding).
• Willingness to work weekends for emergencies.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to ISF bio-security policy and report violations to management team.
• Adhere to ISF animal wellbeing policy and report violations to management team.
• Adhere to ISF safety policies and wear PPE.
• Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to track repairs and materials.
• Demonstrate general trade knowledge across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding.
• Prioritize maintenance items based on animal welfare and facility needs.
• Maintain on-site parts inventory and perform routine repairs.
• Repair or replace building systems (curtains, feeds, ventilation, waterlines, roofing, lighting, HVAC).
• Operate heavy machinery as needed and assist in seasonal tasks.
• Troubleshoot a wide variety of mechanical issues and communicate with team.
