Job summary

Iowa Select Farms is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to work at a farm site. The role covers repairs and preventative maintenance of swine facilities and equipment, with emphasis on plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding, and adherence to bio-security and safety policies.

Responsibilities include maintaining parts inventory, operating heavy equipment as needed, and providing timely repairs to feedlines, ventilation, waterlines and building systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in general trades focused on facility maintenance.
• Ability to perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding tasks.
• Familiarity with shop tools and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work on weekends for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to ISF bio-security, animal wellbeing and safety policies.
• Track repairs and materials using the ISF Tools system.
• Prioritize maintenance items with emphasis on animal welfare.
• Maintain on-site parts inventory and perform preventive maintenance.
• Repair/replace curtain, penning, feedline, ventilation, waterline, roofing, lighting, motors, HVAC systems.
• Operate heavy machinery as needed and assist with well water and seasonal tasks.
• Maintain clean, debris-free site and assist with general appearance.
