Job summary

Iowa Select Farms in Stacyville, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support a dedicated on-site team across farm facilities. You will perform minor maintenance and repairs on swine facilities and equipment, prioritizing animal welfare and safety.

This role requires basic trade skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding), adherence to bio-security and safety policies, and the ability to work weekends for emergencies.

Qualifications

• General trade knowledge including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and welding.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and perform repairs on farm facilities.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to ISF bio-security and animal wellbeing policies.
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and work safely.
• Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to log repairs and materials.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks with animal welfare as a priority.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Maintain on-site parts inventory as needed.
• Repair/replace curtain systems, penning, feedline, ventilation, waterlines, roofs, lighting, motors, and HVAC systems.
• Assist in well water pump and sewer line repairs.
• Assist in seasonal site maintenance and upkeep.
• Keep production locations free of debris.
