Job summary

Iowa Select Farms is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform on-site maintenance across a farm and report to Production Operations. You will address minor repairs and preventative maintenance to keep swine facilities and equipment in good working order.

The role requires general trade skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding), ability to work weekends for emergencies, and strict adherence to bio-security and safety policies while maintaining a clean, well-organized site.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Iowa Select Farms bio-security policy and report any violations to management team.
• Adhere to animal wellbeing policy and report any violations to management team.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, wear PPE, and work in a safe manner.
• Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to track repairs and materials.
• Demonstrate general trade knowledge (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding).
• Prioritize maintenance items with animal welfare as a priority.
• Maintain on-site parts inventory and complete routine repairs.
• Operate heavy machinery as needed and assist with seasonal tasks.
