Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated seeks an Operating Engineer for an on-site Taylor, MI position. You will support operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and participate in safety programs.

The role requires 3+ years of related work in repairs and facilities, with EPA/CFC certification opportunities and Microsoft Office proficiency. You will lift up to 50 lbs, use ladders, and contribute to emergency response and preventive maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Low pressure boilers certification.
• Third Class Refrigeration certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks including painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance.
• Maintain CMMS and complete tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Assist with on-call or emergency response as needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in training programs.
• Fire Life Safety maintenance and testing including emergency power.
• Seasonal start-up and shutdown activities.
• Contribute to other projects as assigned.
