Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician on-site in Detroit, MI. The role involves performing preventive and repair work on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and supporting interior maintenance tasks to ensure property readiness and safety.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of building maintenance experience, basic plumbing/electrical knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ft.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related building repair and maintenance experience.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems.
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence, reporting conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
• Interior maintenance such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture and doors.
• Assist operations in maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
• Move office furniture, machinery, and other materials as requested.
• Replace lighting and ballasts.
• Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts.
• Utilize CMMS systems like Corrigo and update work orders in real time.
• Maintain compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
