Job summary

Rinker Materials in Florida seeks an on-site Estimator to prepare timely quotes and bids for manufactured products. You will read engineering drawings and project specs to identify precast components, determine material and equipment needs, and establish cost estimates for materials, subcontracted work, and labor.

Collaboration with customers and the sales team is essential. The role requires strong communication, analytical and planning skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering plans and project specifications, including drawing organization and quantity takeoffs
• Knowledge of construction or engineering principles relevant to estimating; direct manufacturing experience not required
• Understanding of bidding/quoting processes and information gathering for accurate estimates
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, VPN usage, and web-based file storage
• Strong written and verbal communication, professional interaction with customers and sales teams
• Superior analytical, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and adapt to changing demands

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely, accurate estimates and quotes for manufactured products, projects, and services for bids
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and project specs to identify precast components and determine material/equipment needs
• Identify missing or unclear information and request details for complete quotes
• Itemize tools, fixtures, or equipment to be manufactured or purchased
• Establish cost estimates for materials, equipment, subcontracted work, and labor
• Communicate with customers and sales team, provide timely responses and clarify project needs for bids and quotes
