Job summary

A leading construction firm in the United States seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join its preconstruction team. The role involves analyzing drawings, preparing various estimates, collaborating with project managers, and managing multiple estimates efficiently. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of construction methods and codes. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but experience will be considered. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Strong understanding of materials and applicable building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Familiarity with the Florida subcontractor and supplier market is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze architectural drawings to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare conceptual, design-development, and hard-bid estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and subcontractors during the preconstruction phase.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure scope completeness and competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Drafters, architects, and engineers during the preconstruction phase.
• Conduct site visits as needed to assess project scope, logistics, and cost drivers.
• Assist with value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in bid reviews, scope clarification meetings, and client discussions as needed.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and unit pricing.
• Track market conditions, labor trends, and material pricing to support accurate forecasting.

In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Drafters, and subcontractors to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. What You’ll Do
