Job summary

Rinker in DeLand, FL is seeking an Estimator to prepare timely, accurate quotes for manufacturing and project bids. You will review drawings, determine material and equipment requirements, and itemize tools and subcontracted work to support bid decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proficient with blueprint takeoffs and cost estimation.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Proficient computer skills: MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, VPN usage, cloud storage.
• Analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time-management strengths.
• Self-directed with learning aptitude and adaptability.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Estimates sales costs for manufacturing of products, sales projects, or services to aid bidding.
• Reviews data to determine materials/equipment requirements using blueprints and specifications.
• Itemizes tools, fixtures, or equipment to be manufactured or purchased.
• Establishes cost estimates for materials, subcontracted work, and labor.

About the Role:

• Estimates sales costs for manufacturing of products, sales projects, or services requested to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service.
• Reviews data and determines type of materials or equipment requirements, utilizing knowledge of products to be manufactured, services to be performed, or type of structure to be built, using blueprints and specifications.
• Itemizes tools, fixtures, or equipment to be manufactured by company or purchased from outside sources.
• Establishes cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Blueprint reading and takeoff skills
• Knowledge of the practical application of manufacturing and engineering.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, VPN database system usage and web-based file storage.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional, positive and courteous manner at all times, with customers and all levels of employees.
• Superior analytical, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Aptitude for learning new things, managing competing demands, and adapting to changes, delays or unexpected events.
• Effective and proactive team player; understands the importance of supporting our customers and sales team.
