Job summary

Rinker Materials Career Center is seeking an Estimator to prepare timely, accurate quotes for project bids. You will read engineering drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and determine material and equipment needs for manufactured products and services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, solid estimating knowledge, and strong communication skills. You will travel up to 10% and report on-site at DeLand or Green Cove Springs, Florida, joining a collaborative engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering plans and project specifications.
• Knowledge of construction or engineering principles relevant to estimating; pre-construction estimating helpful.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, VPN databases and web-based file storage.
• Strong written and verbal communication; analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn; early-career candidates encouraged.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and travel up to 10%; on-site at DeLand or Green Cove Springs, FL.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely, accurate estimates and quotes for manufactured products, projects and services to support bidding decisions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs to identify precast components, perform quantity takeoffs and determine material and equipment requirements.
• Identify missing or unclear project information and obtain details for complete quotes.
• Itemize tools, fixtures or equipment and establish cost estimates for materials, subcontracted work, labor and production activities.
• Communicate with customers and the sales team to support bid and quote decisions.
