Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is hiring an Assistant Chief Engineer for its Chicago, IL on-site facility. You will supervise maintenance staff, oversee preventative maintenance, and manage budgeting while ensuring safety and compliance within critical building systems.

The role requires a high school diploma, two years of trades schooling in electrical/hvac and a minimum of 5 years in facility maintenance with supervision experience. Strong communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC.
• At least 5 years in facility/plant engineering maintenance with supervision experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong communication skills and computer literacy (MS Office, Lotus, email).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift.
• Plan and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
• Manage departmental budget and resource allocation.
• Coordinate contracted maintenance work and equipment warranties.
• Ensure safe storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
