Job summary

Linn County Department of Health Services is looking for a DD Specialty Coordinator 1 in the Developmental Disabilities Department. This on-site, SEIU-represented role combines eligibility screening and protective service duties, requiring knowledge of DD case management, OARs, and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities include determining eligibility, educating the community, coordinating referrals, and preparing compliant written reports.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in behavioral science, social science or closely related field; or two years of human services experience; or three years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine presumptive, initial and redetermination of I/DD eligibility per Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
• Act as a community liaison to inform/educate about eligibility for I/DD services.
• Provide referrals to individuals regardless of eligibility status to community resources.
• Interpret, apply and explain department policy and OARs to staff, consumers and advocates.
• Develop and track data/reports for improvement and trends in eligibility and hearings.
• Provide SME testimony in disputed eligibility hearings with the Department Hearing Representative.
• Provide choice counseling to individuals eligible for services.
• Conduct duties including safety, protective service coordination and abuse screening; participate in planning and training.
• Represent the Department in meetings concerning services quality and program activities.
• Interpret and apply Oregon Administrative Rules and state policies in regulatory oversight and abuse investigations.
