Job summary

Interfor in Longview, WA, seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern to apply classroom learning on-site. You will work with experienced professionals, gain practical skills, and contribute to safer, more sustainable operations during a May start with a 4–8 month term.

Responsibilities include supporting EHS initiatives, inspections, audits, data analysis, updating procedures, and collaborating across departments on both office and mill floor environments.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Comfort with analyzing information; Excel required; SQL or Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS initiatives across a manufacturing operation.
• Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
• Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
• Contribute to project work by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
• Collaborate with employees and leaders across the site in office and industrial environments.
