Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD SLBM team at NSWC Dahlgren. This full-time on-site role involves designing test plans, executing automated and manual tests, and collaborating with government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, 1+ year in software/testing, familiarity with C++, Linux, and DOORS/Jira, and strong communication skills for daily briefings. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code and using Linux systems.
• Strong requirements traceability and customer communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, descriptions, and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing across multiple levels.
• Perform requirements traceability with DOORS, Jira, and tools.
• Identify, document, and track defects; work with developers for resolution.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily; present testing docs when needed.
