Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join a large-scale DoD enterprise network program in Pearl Harbor, HI, with 100% on-site presence. Alternate locations include Whidbey Island, WA and Norfolk, VA.

The role focuses on complex network troubleshooting, engineering, configuration management, lab validation, security, and future enterprise solutions across a geographically dispersed environment. Expect collaboration across multiple teams and on-call maintenance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Master's with 6-10 years
• Active Secret clearance required
• IAT Level III certification required
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certifications
• Hands-on BAN/LAN/WAN/WLAN experience in large enterprise networks
• Strong Tier III troubleshooting and engineering skills
• Experience supporting 16,000+ devices across 450+ locations
• Knowledge of routing, switching, and security best practices
• SAFe Agile methodologies and JIRA experience

Responsibilities

• Lead complex network troubleshooting in a large-scale enterprise environment
• Configure and maintain Cisco switches, routers, VLANs, wireless access points, firewalls, and sensors
• Provide Tier III escalation support as SME for multiple teams
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and switching protocols
• Apply defense-in-depth principles and DISA STIGs
• Develop and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans and manage change requests
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring incidents
• Maintain version-controlled configurations and firmware across devices
• Conduct lab testing and pre-production validation for changes
• Collaborate with engineers, operations, architecture on availability and security
• Track work in SAFe/JIRA and participate in program increment activities
