Transdev in Maplewood, NJ is hiring an in-person Dispatcher to join our Essex County team. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience dispatching and knowledge of paratransit operations is beneficial.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of traffic patterns and their impact on paratransit operations (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and via two-way device.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee road service by tracking performance, ensuring routes begin on time, and monitoring incidents.
• Provide customer support by addressing questions, concerns, cancellations, and no-shows.
• Manage emergencies for operators and liaise with emergency services.
• Review route performance daily and proactively respond to events affecting service.
• Manage run pullouts, openings, and closing runs in Dispatch & Scheduling.
• Record late pullouts, driver callouts, and closed routes.
• Reassign trips between runs promptly to maintain performance.
• Respond to driver requests for assistance and manage incidents.
