Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead construction projects for new data centers, collaborating with Operations, Networking, and Security to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient facilities.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and vendor performance on site daily, driving cost control, quality, and safety while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment.
• Strong proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows OS.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage construction projects for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
• Review electrical and mechanical designs for constructability and optimization.
• Manage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
• Ensure construction project quality control.
• Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
• Lead teams to troubleshoot and perform root-ccause analysis of equipment failures.
• Be a leader within the group and in collaboration with internal/external teams.
