Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters to work on a contract basis visiting client sites in their local area.

This in-person role requires taking down proceedings with stenography, voice, or digital capture and delivering accurate transcripts across courts, depositions, and hearings. Candidates must have 1+ years of court reporting experience, pass security screening for government buildings, and hold certification such as NCRA, AAERT, or NVRA preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of court reporting experience.
• Excellent English language skills and clear communication.
• Ability to pass security screening for access to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Takes down proceedings using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture.
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings.
• Administer oaths and participate in depositions and hearings.
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record.
• Perform advance preparation, including building job worksheets and reviewing case information.
• Ensure exhibits are secured, backups are performed, and worksheets are uploaded.
• Maintain reports/logs and respond promptly to communications.
• Represent Neal R. Gross and Co professionally and interact with high-level clients.
