Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters to work on a contract basis visiting client sites in their local area, primarily in-person.

You will capture proceedings using machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture across courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings. Requirements include 1+ year of court reporting, excellent English, strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a court reporter.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Ability to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
• Must pass security screening for access to client sites.
• Must be proficient with court reporting technology.

Responsibilities

• Takes down the proceeding using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture.
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately
• Prepare for assignments, including building job worksheets and reviewing case information
• Ensure all exhibits are secured and worksheets are uploaded at the close of the proceeding
• Maintain all required reports and logs and respond promptly to communications
