Job summary

Neal R. Gross and Co. is seeking experienced Court Reporters for in-person client-site assignments across the local area.

The role involves taking down proceedings with machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture, and delivering verbatim records for courts, hearings, and depositions. Candidates must have at least 1 year of court reporting experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent English. Security screening is required for access to government sites; no training is provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ year as a Court Reporter
• Equipment experience required; no training provided
• Excellent English language skills and attention to detail
• Ability to pass security screening for access to client sites, including government buildings
• NCRA, AAERT, or NVRA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Take down proceedings using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture
• Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
• Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture the record accurately
• Advance preparation for assignments: build worksheets, review case information, ensure proper hardware setup
• Ensure exhibits are secured, backups are performed, and worksheets completed and uploaded
• Maintain required reports and logs and respond promptly to communications
• Represent Neal R. Gross & Co. professionally
• Interact with high-level clients (Federal Govt, State Govt, Private Industry)
