Job summary

Hatzel & Buehler Inc is seeking a Safety Manager to support the Health and Safety plan for the company and monitor risk across projects and operations. Reporting to the Corporate Safety Director, you will direct and implement safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free workplace and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in site safety management or a similar role within Construction Industry.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, county, and local safety regulations and standards.
• Proven experience in conducting safety inspections, investigations, and employee training.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
• Experience with safety documentation and compliance procedures.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, OHST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remain current on federal, state, county, and local safety regulations and keep management advised of new or revised rules.
• Provide and ensure compliance with all safety-related information such as regulatory requirements, signs, labor posters, barriers, required trainings, and education materials.
• Lead and participate in job site safety meetings in partnership with supervision.
• Review subcontractor safety documentation and trainings for completeness as required.
• Perform frequent safety inspections on all jobsites and ensure safe procedures are followed.
• Determine corrective actions and follow up to ensure implementation.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions and coordinate with workers' comp and return-to-work strategies.
• Train employees in company safety policy and procedures; ensure new employees receive safety instructions.
