Job summary

GBA Builders seeks a Project Safety Manager to implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental programs on construction sites, ensuring OSHA compliance and safety culture. You will lead hazard recognition, training, and risk management alongside superintendents and trade partners.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction safety or related field with 5+ years of experience and OSHA-30 certification; OSHA 510/500 preferred, First Aid/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or related field with 5+ years of experience OR equivalent combo
• OSHA-30 certification required
• OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 preferred
• First Aid/CPR preferred
• Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate complex safety risks and lead incident investigations

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and non-compliance
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, new hire orientations, and site safety trainings
• Monitor activities and provide real-time coaching to workers and subcontractors
• Oversee high-risk permitting (hot work, confined space, elevated work, energized work) and controls
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions
• Maintain safety documentation: inspection reports, training records, incident reports, permit logs
• Verify proper PPE use and availability of safety equipment on-site
• Serve as primary contact for OSHA and regulatory inspections and coordinate emergency response
• Support pre-task planning and job hazard analyses; report safety performance to leadership
• Travel to job sites as needed and operate company vehicle as essential
• Other duties as assigned
