We’re looking for a Project Safety Manager to implement and enforce GBA Builders’ health, safety, and environmental programs on assigned construction sites, ensuring full compliance with company EHS policies and OSHA regulations. As the primary on-site safety representative, you’ll work closely with superintendents, foremen, and trade partners to foster a culture of safety through daily engagement, hazard recognition, training, and proactive risk management.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, new hire orientations, and site-specific safety training.

  • Monitor work activities to ensure safe execution, providing real-time coaching and corrective feedback to workers and subcontractors as needed.

  • Oversee permitting processes for high-risk activities (hot work, confined space, elevated work, energized work) and ensure proper controls.

  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety observations, document findings, and collaborate with project stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and permit logs.

  • Verify proper PPE use and ensure availability of required safety equipment on-site.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for OSHA and regulatory inspections and coordinate emergency response procedures.

  • Support pre-task planning and job hazard analyses while communicating safety performance, trends, and concerns to project leadership.

  • Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.

  • Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or a related field AND 5+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • OSHA-30 certification required.

  • OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate complex construction safety risks through proactive hazard recognition and control.

  • Expertise in leading incident investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing effective corrective actions.

  • Advanced knowledge of high-risk permitting procedures, OSHA regulations, and relevant safety standards, with the ability to interpret and apply requirements in dynamic jobsite environments.

  • Proven ability to lead toolbox talks, safety training, inspections, and audit documentation to reinforce a strong safety culture.

  • Ability to review drawings, specifications, and safety plans to identify risk exposures and integrate appropriate controls into project execution.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence project teams, subcontractors, and clients while clearly conveying safety expectations and performance outcomes.
