Job summary

GBA Builders is hiring a Project Safety Manager to implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental programs on construction sites, ensuring OSHA compliance and company policy adherence. You will lead on-site safety reps, coordinate with superintendents and trades, and drive a culture of proactive risk management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience, OSHA-30, and strong incident investigation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, safety, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• OSHA-30 certification required.
• OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 preferred.
• Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate complex construction safety risks.
• Expertise in leading incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Advanced knowledge of high-risk permitting procedures, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and non-compliance.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, new hire orientations, and site-specific training.
• Monitor activities to ensure safe execution and provide coaching and corrective feedback.
• Oversee high-risk permitting processes (hot work, confined space, elevated work) and controls.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; document findings and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation: inspection reports, training, incident reports, permit logs.
• Verify PPE usage and availability of safety equipment on-site.
• Serve as primary contact for OSHA inspections and coordinate emergency response procedures.
• Support pre-task planning and job hazard analyses; report safety performance to leadership.
• Travel to and from job sites as needed; operate a company vehicle.
