Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to help plan, manage, and execute construction projects. The role requires relocation to the project site nationwide, with the Phoenix area serving as the local context for opportunities.

You will assist with budgets, schedules, subcontracts, and owner communications, promoting Layton's standards of safety, quality, and integrity. A strong teammate who can negotiate and lead is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Excellent communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Understands construction laws and reads blueprints.
• Maintains Layton ethics and policies.
• Problem solving and data analysis abilities.
• Works well with others and helps team members.
• Self-starter with efficient time management.
• Basic Spanish for construction settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensure safety, quality, and integrity in all work.
• Assist in preparing estimates, budgets, and unit cost reports.
• Organize pre-construction planning meetings.
• Negotiate project subcontracts.
• Prepare the project management plan and execution strategy.
• Coordinate close-out procedures and occupancy activities.
• Develop and monitor project schedules and milestones.
• Maintain owner relationships and project communications.
