Job summary

Our client, a leading private real estate owner/operator/developer headquartered in New York City, seeks a Project Manager for its construction division. You will oversee planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and project accounting while guiding design, permits, and safety compliance.

The role requires reviewing plans, managing contracts and budgets, and coordinating with architects, contractors, and internal teams to keep projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs; translate to project scope.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and submittals for quality and compliance.
• Knowledge of project insurance requirements and coordination with insurers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule projects, allocate resources, and set performance targets.
• Oversee construction from design through completion with quality control.
• Lead preconstruction tasks including plan reading and contractor qualification.
• Assist in early budgets, track expenses, and manage project budgets.
• Process contracts, change orders, and generate regular financial reports.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, and payment requisitions while adhering to budgets.
• Ensure insurance compliance and coordinate with legal/insurance managers.
• Prepare site Health and Safety Plans and inspect jobsites for safety.
• Track permits and coordinate expeditors for filings.
• Foster effective communication among all project participants.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and laborers.
• Liaise with Property Management, Leasing, Asset Management, and Development teams.
• Monitor progress with regular status meetings and proactive follow-ups.
• Ensure project documents are complete and accurate; review deliverables with clients.
