Job summary

KLA Industries in New York City is seeking a Project Manager for its construction division to oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, and compliance. You will report to the Project Executive and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years PM experience in commercial/multi-family construction, with strong skills in reading plans/specs, budgeting, contract management, and safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or technical training plus 5–10 years field experience as a Project Manager.
• Solid conceptual estimating experience within the construction industry in commercial and/or multi-family residential; commercial to residential conversion.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Plans and Specs; generate scope requirements from plans and specs, review shop drawings and submittals.
• Ensure Project Insurance Compliance: assist in engaging legal and outside insurance managers to meet requirements and obtain certifications.
• Construction Drawings and Specifications Execution: read and understand drawings, manage Design/Engineering Teams to meet goals.
• Drives Results: make timely decisions with strong analytical skills to move projects forward.
• Cultivates Innovation: identify and implement new opportunities to improve processes and negotiations.
• Overcomes Challenges: perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Chart project objectives and plans, set performance requirements, and select project participants.
• Oversee construction from conceptual design through completion.
• Develop early budgets and schedules; track expenses and manage contracts and changes.
• Process RFIs/Shop Submittals and payment requisitions within budget guidelines.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams; ensure safety compliance.
• Monitor progress, hold status meetings, and ensure timely client deliverables.
