Job summary

Synthomer plc seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead field execution and coordination for capital and maintenance projects at the Jefferson Hills facility. You will oversee daily field activities, manage contractors, and ensure safety, schedule, and quality alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience managing industrial construction projects within chemical manufacturing or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety programs, permit-to-work systems, and contractor management.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple contractors and cross-functional project teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment with focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, piping, structural, civil, and electrical construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Design Support: Collaborate with engineering and drafting to resolve design issues and evaluate contractor bid scopes.
• Construction Coordination and Scheduling: Develop look-ahead schedules and coordinate with maintenance, operations, planning to minimize production impact.
• Procurement and Material Management: Oversee materials, tools, and equipment, ensure availability and staging.
• Contractor Management and Field Leadership: On-site point of contact for contractors, ensure safety, permits, performance.
• Construction Execution and Problem Solving: Oversee daily activities, monitor progress, resolve field issues and discrepancies.
• Project Closeout and Turnover: Manage turnover, punch lists, and documentation; support lessons learned.
