Job summary

Centro Escolar University is seeking a motivated construction management/engineering student for a summer internship in Richmond, VA. You will support project management tasks, maintain submittal schedules, assist with subcontract documentation, and help coordinate meetings and safety audits on site.

You'll gain hands-on experience in field management, preconstruction, and BIM tools (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Archicad) while learning to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in construction management or engineering.
• Willing to commit ~40 hours/week during the summer internship.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project tasks including finances, subcontracts, submittals, and change orders.
• Develop safety and quality control procedures and conduct field inspections.
• Lead on-site activities to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Assist in preconstruction by evaluating bids and preparing takeoffs.
• Use AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, and Archicad to clash-detect 3D BIM models.
