Harkins Builders, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Summer 2027 Field Intern to support site operations during a temporary assignment.

This role offers exposure to construction management processes on multifamily, senior living, government, and commercial projects. You will assist with scheduling basics, shop drawings, submittals, attending subcontractor meetings, tracking progress, and maintaining daily logs and safety practices under supervision.

Qualifications

• Coursework towards a bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
• Construction management knowledge or experience through college coursework and/or on-the-job training.
• Basic organizational, leadership, analytical, and communication skills to meet deadlines and achieve results.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, contracts, and other documents.
• Familiar with Procore, Excel, Word, and Project.

Responsabilités

• Understand basic scheduling.
• Process shop drawings and submittals.
• Attend subcontractor meetings.
• Track job progress.
• Maintain safety and quality programs and report issues.
• Notify site management of changes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Produce quality work per plans and specs.
