Job summary

Hourigan is offering a Construction Management Internship to motivated students this summer. You will gain hands-on exposure across field management, project management, preconstruction, BIM coordination, and safety.

Typical duties include supporting project finances, submittals, meetings, RFIs, and safety inspections. Travel may be required, and the program emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must demonstrate genuine interest in the construction industry.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with a team.
• Able to work ~40 hours per week for a summer internship.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Dive into project management aspects: finances, contract docs, subcontracts, submittal schedules, meetings, RFIs, change orders.
• Explore Safety and Quality Control programs and perform safety inspections on job sites.
• Gain hands-on experience in field management and on-site activities to deliver projects on time and budget.
• Assist with preconstruction: bid packages, subcontractor bids, proposals, drawings, material takeoffs.
• Learn BIM tools and clash detection in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Archicad.
