Job summary

A.R. Mays Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead commercial projects across major Southern California regions. The role focuses on safe, timely delivery, field leadership, and coordination with Project Managers and field teams.

You will oversee ground-up and tenant-improvement projects, manage subcontractors, implement project schedules, and maintain high-quality workmanship while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction (Hotels/Hospitality experience a plus).
• Experience working for a general contractor.
• Strong knowledge of ground-up construction; experience with large site work projects a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations and jobsite execution.
• Manage and maintain the construction schedule.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and field personnel.
• Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Lead jobsite safety and maintain OSHA compliance.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate with local municipalities.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Lead project meetings and communicate with project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Oversee punch list and project closeout processes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
