Job summary

A.R. Mays Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support commercial construction projects across Southern California. You will work with seasoned Superintendents, Project Managers, and field teams while gaining hands-on experience with ground-up and tenant improvements.

The role reports to the Project Superintendent and offers an ESOP environment and room for professional growth. Primary duties include coordinating subcontractors, monitoring safety and quality, keeping schedules,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily construction activities and subcontractor coordination.
• Ensure work aligns with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Help maintain project schedules and monitor jobsite progress.
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections and promote a safe, organized work environment.
• Complete daily reports and project documentation using Procore.
• Assist with punch lists, inspections, and project closeout activities.
• Communicate effectively with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and trade partners.
