Job summary

Stantec seeks a Resident Engineer to join our roadway and infrastructure team on-site at project locations in Illinois. You will oversee day-to-day field construction, ensure work aligns with designs, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate with contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies.

As a field leader, you will mentor inspectors, review plans and shop drawings, track change orders, and support preconstruction and post-construction deliverables while upholding safety policies and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience preferred.
• Illinois Professional Engineer license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day field construction oversight to ensure work aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
• Manages on-site coordination with contractors, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conducts QA/QC and participates in project proposes.
• Reviews plans, shop drawings, and change orders with contractors.
