Stantec is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our roadways team in the Chicago area. You will lead on-site construction oversight, ensuring work aligns with design, budget, and schedule while enforcing plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Well-developed understanding of general construction concepts.
• Experience managing construction for IDOT, CCDOTH, Tollway, or other local agencies.
• Ability to resolve issues effectively.
• Ability to assign and monitor project team responsibilities.
• Ability to discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
• Strong time management, budgeting, and resource optimization.
• Proven team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day field construction oversight to ensure projects are built per design, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinates with construction contractors and on-site participants to recognize and resolve issues without directing methods.
• Understands and implements industry standards and client/regulatory requirements.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control and peer reviews on projects.
• Prepares portions of construction management services proposals and client communications.
• Acts as primary field contact with client, oversight reps and agencies during Construction Phase.
