Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our on-site team nationwide. You will assist in planning, managing, and executing multiple ground-up commercial projects, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability while coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Relocation to project sites may be required. The role emphasizes collaboration, budget oversight, and timely pay applications, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand codes and practices.
• Proven problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures construction work is performed with integrity, safety, and quality.
• Assist in preparation of estimates, budgets, and cost reports.
• Organize pre-construction planning meetings and negotiate subcontracts.
• Assist in creating project management plans and execution strategies.
• Coordinate final close-out procedures, including as-built drawings and warranties.
