Job summary

CLMI Group is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist (AR/AP) to manage accounts receivable and payable for multifamily development projects in Los Angeles. This on-site role requires construction industry accounting experience and strong job costing knowledge.

You will work with project managers to track budgets, process invoices, draw requests, lien releases, and ensure accurate coding to job codes. Proficiency in Excel and construction software is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years AR/AP in construction industry
• Experience with job costing, lien releases and pay applications
• Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of construction software (Sage 300 CRE, Procore, Viewpoint/Vista, Foundation)

Responsibilities

• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices with proper project/job cost coding
• Prepare owner billings, draw requests, and pay applications (AIA G702/G703 preferred)
• Track subcontractor documents (lien releases, certificates of insurance, W-9s)
• Reconcile pay applications against contracts, change orders, and retention
• Process checks, ACH, and wires; manage vendor payment schedules
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding payments
• Assist with monthly job cost reports and budget-to-actual reconciliations
• Maintain project accounting files and support month-end/year-end close
• Coordinate with project managers on budget tracking and cost coding questions
• Support payroll compliance reporting as needed
• Respond to vendor/client inquiries about invoices and accounts
