Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Compactor Shop Technician B to troubleshoot, design, install and repair compactors and power units under supervision. You will work at customer sites following safety procedures and complete required paperwork.

Ideal candidates have welding, hydraulics or electronics proficiency and at least 2 years of experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses. The role includes on-site repairs and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with welding, hydraulics or electronics.
• At least 2 years of prior experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses.
• Ability to follow safety policies with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Replace hydraulic cylinders.
• Fabricate replacement hoses and fittings.
• Weld steel components using MIG and Arc welding.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for compactors.
• Perform on-site repairs at customer locations.
• Install company and safety decals on all compactors.
• Refer more complex repairs to higher level technicians.
