Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Compactor Shop Technician B to troubleshoot, design, install and repair compactors and power units under supervision. The role requires handling welded fabrication, hydraulic work and on-site service at customer locations.

The position emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and following company procedures while delivering quality workmanship and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with welding, hydraulics or electronics.
• Ability to utilize mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, airless paint sprayers.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.
• At least 2 years of prior experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses.

Responsibilities

• Replace hydraulic cylinders on compactors.
• Fabricate hoses and fittings for hydraulic systems.
• Weld steel components using MIG and Arc welding equipment.
• Operate plasma cutter or torch to cut steel.
• Perform on-site repairs at customer locations.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and paperwork completed.
